Welcome to my e-portfolio, the final project in my MATLT journey.
When I began my online school experience three years ago, it was with
the intention to finish the BA in English I had started many years
prior. I had no intentions of going on to complete a Masters program.
However, while I was taking my online classes, it became very clear to
me that technology was creating a new future for education, and it was a
future that I became very excited about. By the time I finished my BA, I
knew it was a future I wanted to be a part of. Enrolling in the MATLT
program seemed like a natural extension of that, and indeed, it has been
an illuminating journey.
When I started the program, I
had vague ideas about how technology could improve and aid in
education. Each class I took exposed me to new ways of thinking, taking
those vague ideas and fleshing them out with specific knowledge and
concepts that completely changed how I looked at teaching and learning.
My husband teaches in a traditional classroom, and many of the ideas we
learned in this program helped me to have proactive conversations with
him about the things he's been doing with technology in his own classes.
My own plans include me working as an adjunct instructor, teaching
online. I truly see this as the future of education, and I hope to be a
dynamic part of it. Hopefully, my e-portfolio will convey the
understanding and knowledge this program has given me to become so.
Thank you all for sharing in this amazing journey.
